Faye Kaufman will be speaking about her studies in Italian and particularly the paper she wrote on the composer Puccini. The talk will also feature Italian wines which are being donated and will be introduced by Enrico Mocellin. Please bring a non-meat dish to share for lunch.

Guest Speaker Elisabeth Holdsworth is a former intelligence officer, psychologist, essayist, novelist, winner of the inaugural Calibre Award, Raft Fellow 2017, author of If This is a Jew and LBC member.

LBC welcomes visitors each year to its annual Civic Service, held during the Kew Community Festival. The Service celebrates Shabbat and LBC’s place in the local community. The Service will be followed by Kiddush.

Enjoy Jewish and popular music at our March Jewish Jam Session. Bring an instrument if you have one or your singing voice or just listen, and also a small note donation. No previous performing experience needed and sheet music is always provided.

Professor Anthony Luder is Director of Paediatrics at Ziv Medical Centre, Safed, saving both Syrian and Israeli lives. He will be speaking about Israel’s Response to the Humanitarian Crisis in Syria.
Professor Luder is actively involved with the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism and is in Australia as part of the UIA Progressive Trust Appeal.

Our first exhibition for the year, featuring the works of LBC member Val, will be launched on Sunday, 18 February at 2.30pm at the Leo Baeck Art Centre.
Val has travelled widely and created evocative images of what she has seen in many different parts of the world. A selection of these oils and watercolours are available for purchase.
